This section has a lot of stuff, which does not really fit in
anywhere on this site. Some of these where part of my first site,
and still deserve the attention.
Enjoy!

:: COFFEE :: |
Let it be known: I love coffee!
Since the very beginning I have
preached about the joy and wonder of
S T A R B U C K S
coffee - and to this day it is still No. 1!.

Anyhow, here is the
original and best:
"How to brew the perfect cup"
There are 4
fundamentals of coffee brewing: |
1. WATER |
Start with cold, fresh,
preferably filtered water, heated to just off the boil to
extract coffee's full range of flavor. |
2. GRIND |
The right grind
depends on how long the coffee and water will be in contact,
from very coarse for a coffee press, to very fine for a
espresso machine. |
3. PROPORTION |
The classic recipe: 2
tablespoons / 10g coffee for each 6 ounces / 180ml of water.
Skimping on the coffee makes for an over-extracted, bitter
brew. To moderate your coffee's strength, add hot water after
brewing. |
4. FRESHNESS |
Buy enough
fresh-roasted beans to last a week or less, and store them in
a dark, airtight container at room temperature. For best
results, grind the beans just before brewing, then enjoy your
coffee fresh or transfer it to a thermal carafe. |
