Family Ties is set in Columbus, Ohio, where one-time flower
children Elyse and Steve Keaton now find themselves to be
parents and professionals (she an architect, he the manager of
public TV station WKS-TV). The have four children: Alex aka Mr.
Conservative, habitually dressed in suit and tie, Mallory, whose
life revolves around designer jeans and boys, and cute
little Jennifer, and finally in the 1984/85 season, Andrew was
born. Throughout the seasons, Skippy Handleman from across the
street visits and mostly irretates the Keatons.
